Tudejem · History

With the idea of expanding our range of wines and achieving their utmost expression, we sought a winery in the Lands of Castile to serve our desires.  We found it in the Lands of Ribera del Júcar, where grapes have been grown since the late seventeenth century.

The vineyard is on a plateau at an altitude of 740 metres, with gentle slopes, sandy clay soils and a gravel layer that is typical in this area.

Mediterranean winds ensure ideal grape ripening allowing us to extract their qualities and achieve top quality wines.

The vines are about 60 to 70 years old.

Here, we  grow Cencibel (Tempranillo) grapes with compact, medium-sized clusters of blue-black grapes.  This achieves complex, round wines, particularly suitable for ageing.

The winery chosen to make these wines is located in the municipality of Casas de Haro.   The first vinification took place in 2009 and we put all our efforts, care and affection into it.

When the harvest reaches the winery, it is put in stainless steel tanks, maintaining the utmost respect for the integrity of the grapes to avoid crushing the pips and skins. The wine is macerated for 35 days, with pumpovers four times a day to extract the tannins and colour.

The wines thus obtained are not clarified. They are stabilised in a natural way in fine-grain, American oak barrels.  They remain there for 10 months at a temperature of 15 to 16 degrees centigrade and 80% humidity. This way, we enhance their organoleptic characteristics, obtaining top-quality, structured, well-balanced, aromatic  wines.
